I stayed in Nelson Mandela hostel in my 1st and 2nd year. The room is triple sharing and you will be provided with your own bed and mattress but I would suggest you to buy your own mattress as the ones provided by the hostel people are very old. The room is provided with attached washroom and it will be cleaned daily. If you have the option to select your room the you can select a room ending with number 3-8(like 205 with 2 being 1st floor and 05 is your room number) or 13-18 as they have the best cooling. The AC is switched on from 6PM to 7AM on working days and full day on weekends and holidays. After 7 AM only air blower works and there will be be very less cooling. You will be provided hot water for bathing purposes through a common pump on each floor and drinking water is also provided through water coolers provided on each floor. Wifi is provided but the speed varies and the timings are same as that of ac timings. Mess facility is common for AC and Non-AC hostels at Sannasi Mess and the food is ok, but you have several stalls inside the foodcourt near the hostels where you can go if you are bored of mess food. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any photos of the room with me so I couldn’t upload any.
