I graduated in MSSE’16, Vellore Campus. I will share my experiences here, mine alone. Let’s start with placements because placements tend to take more credibility.
Placements: I got a “Dream Offer”(Something specific to VIT), so trust me when I say you are eligible for all companies. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT believe those who say MSSE students are not eligible for Dream and Super Dream. I attend most of the dream and super dream exams. Not once I ever felt that the discrimination against MSSE in personal interviews. Trust me, if I remember right, I have been in personal interview rounds of 7 companies (dream, super dream). My failure in those interviews was because I lacked technical skills back then 😛 . I got all the mass placements I attended and they were a piece of cake.
Research: I published 3 papers, I feel, I am eligible to write about this section as well. There are many competent faculties who are interested in research. All one has to do is find the right faculty and approach them. SITE school has faculties who published technical books as well. Most of them are socially inactive and students tend to ignore them. One has to do research and find those gems in the school. If Masters / PhD is the goal their LOR’s will be beneficent. How to write and publish is altogether a different story.
