Aah, a question I would love to answer!
After I read this, I once for all decided to try and put an end to the famous ‘What’s-so-great-about-VIT?’ question that has been discussed among the education fraternity in India.
Picture this:
I work my ass off for entrance tests and successfully make it to top tier IITs, NITs or BITS Pilani. I had worked really hard for this and am very proud for breaking into coveted institutions. I might even have taken a year off for this.
And then out of nowhere, a college named VIT Vellore for which I had not even appeared for, makes big news in placements and it has been ranked over some of the IITs or NITs or BITS Pilani consistently. And the students in VIT aren’t as sharp and intelligent as me, that’s the reason I got into IIT or BITS Pilani in the first place and they did not.
Tell me, why would I not participate in taking part in deploring this college! Why would I not feel bad that I studied so hard for getting into IITs and Pilani and these students of VIT are making a name for themselves! Sure I will!
