People at any institute is a mixture of everything! In my personal opinion amd experience I have only met lovely people! Both guys and girls. Teachers are very helpful and considerate. At the same time there are few who are way way strict! So it all depends on how you behave with them. Sikkim people are warm and their behaviour is way more nice than any other city or place.
I would recommend you not to have assumptions and come with an open mind.
