I got a decent rank in VITEE. I attended the counselling and took admission in my desired branch. I cancelled my admission 5 days later, and got my refund a few days ago.
Actually i never wanted to study engineering, but if i end up doing so anyhow, i’ll not go to VIT. I met with a few professors who were there to talk with students, and they were idiots. Nice people, but idiots. But thats okay. Even quite a few of the NIT professors are known to not have much in depth knowledge. The main two reasons i did not join, is the way they are after money and after your freedom.
They have 5 categories of counselling, where each time you pay a little (actually a lot) extra to get your desired stream if you dont have the brains to score well in VIT. Get this straight, a guy with a rank of 1 lakh in a bullshit exam like VITEE can be in the same CSE class as the guy with rank 1, if his daddy has deep pockets. Everything about that college is about money. Infact, i know a guy who did not even make it in category 5, which is 80k-1lakh rank, and got in to CSE by underhand means. Why should i have to share a clasd with a person having a third of my IQ? This management quota thing is worse than SC/ST quota.
