Civil Engineering is a dead engineering branch, because it has been eaten away by computer engineering. It should not be pursued in India.
Most recommended way for any Indian youth to become a civil engineer is by competing in some competitive exam to become a civil engineer in the govt sector.
Contrary to the popular belief there is no demand of any kind of civil engineering degree holders in the private sector in India and most of such employee in the private civil engineering companies are working as clerks/labours, and are getting proportionate salary.
