B Pharmacy program was introduced in UPES in 2019. It is part of School of Health Sciences with an excellent infrastructure and well-qualified and highly motivated faculty. The School has mission to develop skilled professionals and innovative leaders to meet healthcare needs of India and beyond through outcome based education. School is providing multidisciplinary and inclusive environment to students and faculty for learning and research to achieve excellence in research, academics, service and scholarship. Pharmacy Council of India has approved the B Pharmacy program. To prepare the students for jobs and technologies that will drive the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in next decade, School is going beyond PCI curriculum and imparting students’ knowledge on new technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning etc. The courses like venture ideation and design thinking give opportunity to students to learn how to be an entrepreneur. The school is well equipped to impart learning in current situation created by COVID19 with online learning platforms and training to faculty for virtual teaching until students are able to make it to campus. The industry connect is in DNA of UPES and the same has flowed in to B Pharmacy program. The MOUs with Wockhardt Limited, Dristi Eyecare Institute and Synergy Institute of Medical Sciences provide opportunities for experiential training and internships. Seven students from first batch were selected for a fully paid internship for two months thus giving them an opportunity for international exposure. Besides, advisory board of the school with top professionals from industry and Board of Studies with to academic and industry professionals helps in driving the school towards excellence. Regular interaction and talks by industry and academic leaders give students opportunities to network and learn. Even during lockdown close to 20 such interactions were arranged. Interested students are involved in research from first semester itself and have filled patent applications and presented in research conferences in first year of joining the program. The School has published more than ten papers in first year of existence itself indicating the high priority to research excellence.
