ECE was one of the best branches at MSRIT, till a few years ago. At the moment of writing down this answer, I have nothing great to write about the dept.
Academics wise:
The teaching quality here is not at par with other colleges of reputed standard. You can often hear ECE students complaining that they don’t know anything about Electronics and Communication. I feel that the subjects are taught only from Exam point of view. As a result of which students end up forgetting the stuff as soon as they leave the exam hall.
However, things seem to be changing lately. It has become mandatory for students to complete projects against a few credits. This will surely help students expand their skills beyond mugging up of syllabus. Let’s hope for the best.
Placement wise:
The IT jobs come to rescue when it comes to placement. Some of the top core companies do not visit the campus for placement. Of the core companies that visit the campus, most of them take single digit students.
You can, however, apply for your dream companies off-campus.
