I’m going to give you a relatively detailed answer but before that I’ll just give you an idea on my performances.

Jee advanced rank 14k
Viteee rank -17k
Comedk -880.
Now, getting into details, I hope you do notice that my jee advanced rank is better than my viteee rank. This is inspite of the fact that I did the vit exam very well.
Vit is a complete scam, they manage to fool everyone and I was at some point fooled too .
Vit places empty slots in their rank list where in students who pay money can join. Also vit is nothing short of a factory.
Let me give you a comparison between vit and RV for the same branch, let’s say cse.
- With my rank, I could have gotten cse in vit with phase 2 counseling,i.e – 3L fees over my merit fee of 1.7. In rvce, other than the management quota fact, you need to have performed well in the cet or comedk to get a seat which means you are sitting among others who are quite similar to you in capabilities(excusing the management seats). This is not the case with vit.
- In RV there are only 2 types of fee costs, through cet or comedk , both being much much cheaper than vit.
- To explain my statement of vit being a factory and it’s implication: Vit takes approximately 1000 students per branch, RV takes probably 150. In RV one would receive much larger attention and certainly have better faculty, trust me I’ve seen both, vit professors are not the friendly ones at all. Also there would be less biasing in RV with a much smaller crowd comparison to vit.
- Coming to what many would want to know… Placements. In the branch of CSE from rvce you’ll get a package of over 7lpa if you can get through your interviews. This is for I’m guessing 50%of the class at least, vit can claim such salaries to probably 10% of ours passouts at max. Vit is more of the 3L Infosys job types.
- Going abroad for an MS? Well MoUs don’t mean a thing, RV college has students going to MIT Stanford ,Carnegie Mellon and the likes.(with schlorships)
- Finally Bangalore vs Vellore…I don’t think I even need to talk about this, Bangalore is the silicon valley of India-enough said.
All this being said, not only RV but even PES,BMS and Ramiah are much much better than vit as a place. In Bangalore you have much better exposure. So vit has an Olympic swimming pool? Bangalore has 5 of them. We have a synthetic athletic track(3 actually) and every other facility. You can take your friends out for shopping, use the metro and more over, have a life.
We have IISc, the ultimate Institute for research. Vit is nothing in comparison to RVCE
