Not sure of how to answer because I am in the military (and hopefully someone more qualified answers this question) but basically there are a plethora of opportunity to become a government employee with a computer science background. Go to The Federal Government’s Official Jobs Site and you will likely find a lot of openings. Don’t expect to get better treatment than the civilian sector though. The government is full of bureaucracy and is generally pays less than its civilian counterpart sector so you may not like it as much. Although, if you become a civilian contractor that works for the government, you might get better pay and treatment.
