Is UIET PU in Chandigarh a government or private university?

UIET is a self financed institute of Panjab University. It means UIET generates its own income, the university has nothing to say in this regard.

Broadly speaking, there are two types of departments/institutes in the Campus

1. Self Financed, like UIET, UIAMS, UIFT etc
2. University Funded, like UICET, UBS and other traditional courses

University funded departments are relatively cheap then it’s Self Financed counterparts.

But on the whole, they are a part of Panjab University, which is a Public collegiate university
