What’s the difference between computer science engineering and computer technology?

I feel so unlucky that I choose computer technology in my graduation. Subjects focusing programming languages were very less. Instead, we ended up learning subjects like electronic devices and circuits, magnetic forces, microprocessors, embedded system, artificial intelligence, etc. I think focus was more on hardware rather than software. Thankfully I had prior knowledge of few languages and ended up in IT industry. I would strongly recommend to choose computer science if you want to be a programmer.
