There are following differences in computer engineering and I.T:
1) Computer engg. has more hardware part with few subjects and practicals related to hardware.
2)Sometimes a single chapter in computer engg. book becomes a whole book for I.T. 🙂
3) You can be in much better college if you opt for I.T ( w.r.t entrance exam score)
4) I.T has more girls than in computer engg. 😀
And in the end, you have same placement platform for both I.T and comp engg.
