This is an interesting question and more over I enjoyed seeing some of the answers. I have seen similar questions form last 4 decades. Non of answers given by many scholars & senior people those days have not been able to answer to any perfection. Similarly, it is difficult to predict the future technology trend and innovations. I think it is sure that changes will come an shall be in – The way we work, software platforms we work on, applications we use, uses of application in our day to day life, governance & control over thing effecting your life, ease of usage, and it goes on & on. The other important thing which has provided lot of ease to our life and the way we do common transactions with online applications – such as banking, any kind of booking, shopping, information on any thing and every thing and so on. I am sure there will be more innovations in all these areas.
So as you rightly said, technology & applications will keep on building everyday and shall be more user friendly and robust and reliable. If this is true, then why worry about what will change and to what. At this stage the best thing for you is to join you your career path which is closer to your heart & your are passionate.
