My rank in the JEE Mains is 187,000 in the general category. Should I do a spot round of counselling? Which college should I choose for it?

You have some chances of getting IIIT or GFTIs in lower branches. Fill the colleges’ sequence in the order of their reputation and reputation of the branch.
