How does counselling in Manipal work?

Here is a brief description about the counseling.
Once you get your rank in the entrance exam, you will be given dates for counseling.
This is then followed by 3-4 consecutive rounds of counseling.
In the first round you are explained about the selection of branch and other such details.
Now in case you are not able to get your specific branch, you can go for branch sliding.
In case of branch sliding, suppose your preferred branch is aero, and it’s not available, you take up ece or civil and your name will be in the waiting list. Once the admissions are done to the specific branch, in case there are any vacancies, you will be given the seat in that based on your rank again.
And once you select your branch you will have to pay the required amount of fees.
The second and third rounds are for the students who have missed there first round of counseling.
Once all the rounds are done, a list comes out, which has the admitted student’s names in it.
