After graduating from one of the “top” college of DU I felt it was overrated. When you see fees infrastructure and overall working system of the university then it seems fine. But in reality the education is pretty average. In india we judge a college by its difficulty of acceptance. But what they are teaching and providing is not up to the mark maybe that’s why people prefer going abroad where you get good faculty, curriculum, exposure and practical knowledge. What you study in Delhi University you can study that anywhere in the country maybe location gives it the advantage and that’s it. You can study on mumbai, Pune, banglore, Punjab, Lucknow, and any other state or central university you’ll receive equal education. You don’t need to rush to DU just because it has a fancy name and location attached to it.
Why it is best maybe because it is located in good area. It has good library for post graduates. It has a brand name. Maybe that’s all. Rest the faculty, curriculum, no. Of classes held, result, placements are pretty average. Something you can gain in any other university. So if you are not a local student or can’t afford to spend 3 yrs in Delhi don’t rush in high hopes at the end what matters is which course you have studied, how well have you studied it and how much knowledge and experience you have received in your respective field. No employer would hire you seeing Delhi University in your certificate.
There are some exceptions like SRCC for commerce in terms of placement (only for commerce) but still at the end you are on your own.
