Good !!! ??? Well, after reading my answer you will get to know that the word ‘good’ is very less for IISc.
To understand why IISc stands different among all the technical colleges of India, you must know why it was created. During 1900s, a need was realized to have a centre where fundamental and applied research can be performed on various levels and on the other hand, to have a good industrial collaboration, so that the research can be applied to the industry. This led to the inception of IISc whose sole purpose was to create an ecosystem of research & development (R&D) in the country.
Till now I have done 2 internships in IISc, both in Aerospace Department, and I would be expressing my views from whatever I have experienced. My 2nd year internship was in Open Circuit Wind Tunnel, which is having the largest Test Section in the country, established in 1960s. The labs and facilities at IISc are at par with the best in the world. During my project, our team needed funds to buy some equipment. As soon as we provided details, they were made available without much delay, which showed that funding part at IISc is quite transparent and doesn’t follow a lengthy procedure, as in many government departments. My 3rd year internship was in Combustion Physics Lab, which is purely a computational lab
