I don’t know much in detail about the last placement season. But from what I hear even though companies came not many were selected in your so called dream jobs and then a whole fiasco happened as some students were found cheating during the aptitude test for a reputed e-commerce giant. (You have to understand I can’t name the company or the students involved.)
But leaving the negative notes aside the career development cell are working tirelessly to get the best companies to campus in the coming season. Don’t make a life decision based on the placement a college has to offer the placement depends on you not the college.

Before you ask the reason why I didn’t follow the placement season was because I don’t intend to sit for placements in an ideal situation.
