Getting M.Tech CSE degree from IIT Kharagpur has changed my entire life.
After B.Tech: I completed my B.Tech CSE from a UP state government college, KNIT Sultanpur(Among the top 5 AKTU colleges ). I scored a decent Percentage of 85.4% and got job offers from two MNCs (TCS and Wipro) with a package around “3.6 Lakhs Indian Rupees/year” during the campus placements. I enjoyed my B.Tech life a lot and got many lifetime friends.
But I had no recognition after passing out of college. I did not want to work in the service based MNCs so I had applied in few good product-based companies like Flipkart, Myntra, Amazon, etc. But never got any calls for interviews even after having a decent Percentage, good project and many extracurricular activities in my resume. I am pretty sure that they wouldn’t have looked anything after looking at my college name.
I decided to follow my dream and continued my GATE preparation. I didn’t join both of the companies. I got admission in IIT Kharagpur after scoring well in GATE 2017.
After M.Tech: I completed my M.Tech CSE from IIT Kharagpur. I scored a decent CGPA here too, 8.94 and during campus placements, got a decent job offer from a Top Japanese E-Commerce Company, Mercari with a package of “54 Lakhs Indian Rupees/year” and the job location is in Tokyo, Japan. I was shortlisted in many other top companies but as per IIT Policy (One Student, One Offer), I had chosen Mercari as my preference
