Joining an engineering college based on placement opportunities is a mistake. Big mistake. Do not trust media or the hype around placement. Ask any good engineer and they will tell you the truth.
IITs, NITs, IIITs, BITS, etc all provide you with great placement opportunities. If you are talented and hard working you can always apply for off-campus placements and get hired. It all depends on how much hard work can you put in. Never let placement influence your decision of branch or engineering college. It won’t matter at the end of your engineering.
