I will not speak about 15+ lpa because most of the Tier1 companies do offer 10+lpa to 40lpa domestic salary.. I will also not speak about international placements as it is difficult from of campus placement perspective..
So before answering, we need to understand what are kind of companies & role we are targeting.. So investment banks, consulting firms & giant software product companies do offer such packages.. The common skills for all these companies will be great coding knowledge, very good communication skill, problem solving skill & awesome aptitude.. Now based on the sector, the degree of these requirements varies.. Like if you target top investment bank like Goldman Sachs then they will judge you more on your numerical aptitude & problem solving skill.. Whereas a consulting firm may look more of soft skills along with the technical skills.. On the other hand companies like Google will prefer someone having great coding skill.. That can be through competitive coding or if you get involved in lots of open source project.. So Google or Microsoft do value your involvement in ACM ICPC or GSOC etc..
Coming to how to reach to the companies, Google conduct its test for fresher recruitment.. Amazon does a lot of off campus recruitments.. So look for their notifications but before that prepare the the companies you are targeting..
