Regarded as one of India’s most credible B-school Rankings, the 11th edition of Ranking 2021 has been released on January 1, 2021. This prestigious ranking offers plenty of surprises and documents the changing landscape of management education and Top 100 B-schools in India. In a significant result from the survey, IIM Calcutta has secured the No 1 Rank, while IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore have earned number 2 and 3 positions, respectively. The Ranking underscores the rapid rise of new IIMs into the top league table even as top private B-schools like SPJIMR, XLRI, MDI and NMIMS have steadfastly held on to their leadership, despite rising competition.
Before we come to Top 10 and Top 20 and Top 50 Rankings, it’s important to note the survey methodology that will explain the rankings. Since 2010, Ranking has championed the use of only ‘Objective Data’,without any ‘Perception Survey’ data to ensure transparency and authenticity. Designed exclusively for MBA aspirants, this Ranking is based on 360-degree assessment that balances the three pillars of a B-school: Input (student quality & diversity), Processes (faculty, academics, research, international accreditation) and Outcomes (placements, startups). More than 150 B-schools participated in the Ranking 2021, while only 85 top B-schools have been ranked.
