During my MBA, I had a friend who previously prepared for UPSC and had decided to pursue MBA in his late twenties.
When the placement session began, the story went like this:
- L&T Finance: Not allowed to sit because they needed people from dual specialisation. Later on, they selected a guy from Finance specialisation.
- Deloitte Tax: Disqualified. Deloitte needed commerce graduates and he was an engineering graduate.
- S&P Capital IQ: He got a first round exit even when less deserving candidates sailed through. That day, I saw him hitting the lowest point of his life.
- CSC: Made through all the rounds and got a last round exit without any pertinent reasons.
Seemed that things were not working for him. Definitely, it was not working for him. With every passing opportunity, his chances of getting a job looked bleak.
