What should I do? I’m a 2nd year B.Tech student. I did not prepare for the NEET exam. Should I go for it?

If you’re willing and determined to change your field then you can appear for NEET this time or future. As you have not prepare for NEET then it doesn’t mean you can’t appear for it, my advice will be to you is appear for it and get a feel of what the examination is exactly like because there is no restrictions on attempts but remember general and OBC category students are eligible forNEET till 25 years of age and remaining reserved category are eligible till 30 years of age. So take all these points into consideration and make your decision early .

It’s highly subjective by the way, you have to decide for yourself if you decide to prepare and then give the exam;next year that still a good option but as I have mentioned above that there is no attempt limits thus appearing this time would do no harm instead of that you will have a experience and gain something which you can use to perform better tomorrow.
