Medical entrances ask Objective Multiple Choice type questions. So read MCQ books. The more MCQs you cover, the better. Reading only NCERT books is helpful only for your board exams. No need mugging line by line for Medical Entrance Exams. Physics,Chemistry questions are in the form of Problems that test your understanding of fundamentals. Biology requires mugging.
I prepared for these exams in 1996. For biology we had Tata Mc Graw Hill’s guide for Biology of 11th and 12th class. I don’t know whether these are still available in the market. I had also subscribed to Brilliant Tutorials and these had valuable notes. For Physics I read IIT Physics by S.L Gupta and Sanjeev Gupta. It had thousands of objective problems and also long answer type problems. I skipped lengthy problems and concentrated on small and medium Problems. For Chemistry also I referred IIT Chemistry ( I think the author was O.P Agarwal). Botany by Bendre and Pande. Brilliant Tutorials was enough for Zoology.
