Computer Science and Engineering, without doubt! Unless you are really passionate about a particular field of engineering, choose Computer Science and Engineering. You’ll get tired of counting how many CS companies visit the campus for recruitment. And a lot of them offer packages raging from 7.5 lakhs per annum to 15 lakhs per annum. But you gotta keep an excellent academic record(>9 CGPA), excellent technical and practical grasp over the concepts and programming along with quantitative and verbal aptitude. But even without those and no standing arear in the placement semester you are almost guaranteed a package of 3.5 lakhs per annum, unless you royally fuck up your 3 years before the placement. Don’t worry about extra curricular and all that society bullshit w.r.t placement. They are quite fun though, if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Other branches also get companies but not quite as much. Also the competition is really high. Competition is high in CSE too, but atleast we have just as many companies lined up.

All branches(CSE, BioTech, Aerospace ,Mechanical etc.) have excellent infrastructure, like labs, classrooms etc . And if you are interested in a particular field, be ready to pour your heart and soul into it, you’ll not only got to have an impeccable academic record but also some interesting projects in your resume.
