Business and Management courses are offered both at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level in the U.S. The degrees at the undergraduate level are either B.A (Bachelor of Arts) or B.S.
At the undergraduate level, you would generally receive a BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration). Other common qualifications at the undergraduate level include B.B.A and B.S.B (Bachelor of Science in Business). Many universities offer a B.A or a B.S in Accountancy. Depending upon your degree, you will be able to pursue Majors/Specializations in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Marketing, Information Systems Management etc. The typical duration of undergraduate degrees is 4 years.
At the postgraduate level, you would generally be able to pursue an M.B.A (Masters of Business Administration), MA or an MS in a Business/Management related field. The typical duration of such postgraduate degrees is 2 years.
Admissions are generally based on several factors, including past academic record, personal essays, recommendation letters, extracurricular activities etc. At the postgraduate level (and sometimes at the undergraduate level), your past work experience, Resume and Portfolio are also taken into account. Interviews might be conducted as a part of the admission process.
