There are a number of Management aspirants looking for affordable colleges and that is a good thing. In recent times, many Schools have raised fees sometimes to ridiculous levels. But looking only at fee is a bad idea. For example AP and Telangana i have seen many colleges where you can do MBA for free, 30K fees per year, which government will pay directly to college. What you learn in such colleges is a different question and placement is unheard of.
- For 90% of students the reason for doing an MBA is placement, getting good career in a good company and role.
So look at Median Salary Vs Fees. For example 6 lakh fees and 5 lakh Median salary makes sense. But 14 lakh fees and 5 lakh Median salary doesn’t make sense.
Even those students who can afford or can get loans should look at this figure.
- Also look at careers. Speak to Alumni of that college. Ask them whether they had taken an education loan. If so, are they able to comfortably pay the EMIs etc.
