I am quite closely related to this college. And from my past 2yrs of association with this institute, I can now freely comment here on the facts I have observed so far.
- Diversity – 70–80% Mallus (Keralites) – The rest belong to other parts of the nation, this will cause voting privileges to mallus in any of the student positions in the college community.
- Experience – Less than 10% of people having previous experience. So, Knowledge sharing, subject understands and topic debates will be very less.
- Farting Fines – If you fart anywhere in the campus, you will end up paying a fine of rs500. You may potential to escape from the Indian Penal Code, but I can guarantee you can’t fly out from SJIM’s fine rule (alternate source of income in the name of discipline & culture).
- Education – Restricted only to PPTs, all the classes of this college runs on the mercy of PPTs. The irony here is, the faculty will teach you using the most pathetic form of PPTs and will expect you to show the best PPTs in your BME activities. Quality of Education is really “deficient” at this college. I have interacted with almost all the faculties, out of which I can say only 10% is really concerned about their students and there teaching styles. The rest treated us like a heard of Sheep.
- Exposure – You will only be exposed to MG road, haven’t seen any inter or intra-college fest or participation.
