Should the rules, as specified by Vellore Institute of Technology regarding hostel conduct, be strictly considered?

Yes. Unlike other colleges VIT takes its hostel rules and regulations very seriously. Not just hostel but what you do outside the campus is of their interest as well. While you are in VIT you are under their watch.
You mess up one bit and they will call your parents, that’s their ultimate weapon along with suspension.
I am a VIT alumni. I have had my share of punishments. No regrets of atrending the university whatsoever.
