I want to drop VIT Vellore in my second semester. What are the possible steps I should take? Do we need to pay the fees for the remaining duration?

Well they take fees annually. So if you paid for the first year you don’t have to pay for the remaining course. And get in touch with your proctor regarding the same. He/she will list the paperwork you need to get done. As far as I remember there was a form for stopping hostel services, and no dues left form from the library. These you had to submit over the finances management section. Where you initially submitted your certificates. Then they give you back your certificates and and you have to fill another form I guess to give back your ID card. Just get in touch with your proctor, they will explain in detail. However of course they will try to convince you to stay and make it work, as an entire seat is going to waste for the next 3 years. You have to deposit some money (as far as I remember it was around 6k) too I guess. My proctor knew my situation and also she was connected with my dad so under his influence she helped in getting this stuff done very promptly. So you probably have to maneuver the situation in the proper manner. Faculty there respects parents’ word. So try to get them onto your side, convince how you’re not happy and not able to perform your best there. I know I was lucky enough that my parents supported this ,but many parents don’t, I’m well aware of that. By try to get someone elderly on your side who can speak for you, your proctor, a teacher, your parent whoever it may be.
