From my experience, the quality of education in Engineering or any professional degree for the matter depends mostly on the exposure the students obtain. If the students obtain enough exposure so as to pursue some really cool ideas or projects, that leads to big success.
Along with exposure, the students’ motivation is also equally important. If the student is motivated to learn new stuff, that would take him/her very far.
I know people who graduated from a not so good Engineering college in VTU and achieved great success in life.
