Chitkara University’s hostels are very good. Rather i would suggest you to not opt PGs , firstly because of safety reasons. Secondly, the main difference of hostel life is independence and the college hostel committee ensures that the hostellers use this independence efficiently and productively by organizing various events . At the end of every semester, “Hostel Night” is organized for enjoying singing and dancing performances by the hostellers.
In case you need to go out of college, you simply need to take a gate pass from a warden, dean and of course your parents will be informed.
PGs are not at all safe. And plus, certain other irrelevant responsibilities fall on you.
