Which branch can I get into in a UPES Dehradun B.Tech with a rank of 2,700?

Congratulations. It is quite difficult for you to get Applied Petroleum Engineering with specialization in Upstream at this rank.

You’ll definately get Applied petroleum engineering with Specialization in Gas at this rank.

I’ll suggest you to go for it because at the end students of both branches will get a degree of B.Tech in ‘Applied Petroleum Engineering’ . This tradition of specializations in UPES is common. These specializations are only for getting more students.

So go for APE-GAS. One thing you can do and that is put the APE-UPSTREAM in waitlist category. If you waitlist get cleared you’ll get APE-UP, if not APE-GAS will be in your hands.
