What speed internet is required?

  • 0

100Mbit/s without any data caps and a ping time below 10ms.

That is what I consider the minimum Internet requirement in 2019.

Normally in Sweden today is 200Mbit/s or higher and most premises are on optical fiber already. I personally have a 1Gbit/s optical fiber connection.
I think that the speed and latency and data usage should NEVER be a limitation on what and how you use the Internet. 100Mbit/s is in my opinion the lowest level that can reach that goal. For a single person household you can drop to 50Mbit/s but never go lower then that.

Data caps are something that should be totally forbidden for fixed connections, I do understand the necessity on cellular connections but I do not like it.

BTW tomorrow is the day when my optical fiber have been fully operational for five years, I think that I shall celebrate that with a typical Swedish strawberry and whipped cream cake.
My unlimited Internet started five years ago, it has so far been fantastic.
I do wish that everybody on the earth could get the same experience.
