It feels awesome to have studied in RV College of engineering. When I completed my 2nd PUC, I had this insane craze of studying at RV college. I had no idea how my college life would be. Once you get into the college, the craze sublimes. It feels just like any other engineering college elsewhere.
The best thing here was that there was this weird sense of freedom. You could get into whatever field you are interested in. I found that the lecturers were great, atleast in our Mechanical Department. It is considered as the ultimate chill department.
There is a rule that you have to maintain 75% and above attendance. But in our department, we had guys who had 50–60% attendance, and they would get relieved anyway. Nobody worries much about attendance.
The cultural fest of RVCE i.e., 8th mile is the best part of the year. You get involved in a lot of cultural activities, and it is a great platform to develop your social skills. The sports facility is also great, ANIL KUMBLE is an RVCE alumnus.
The hostel food sucks to the core, but for most parts of it, manageable. The best people you will meet at the hostel, you’ll make many memories. During exams, the hostellers open a Night canteen. They serve hot coffee, tea, masala dosa, plain dosa etc.
