I am a student of the Computer Science and Engineering department at RVCE. I am due to officially graduate at the end of this month. Having been in your shoes 4 years ago, and having spent the last 4 years at that beautiful place I now call my second home, I feel I am the right person to answer this question.
First, let me clear the air about something very basic. No matter which college you join, it’s the efforts you put in that matter. Every college will have a fair mix of good and bad faculty. It is in your own interest that you take the resources which they point you towards, and work on your own. Relying on faculty heavily is not such a good idea. That being said, RVCE is no different. The CSE department has some really good faculty, as well as some exceptionally bad ones. However, I can assure you one thing: a small amount of dedication from your end can work wonders. Right from the beginning, try to be independent in that regard. You’ll be just fine.
Second, coming to placements: I don’t really think I need to elaborate much here. RVCE CSE alumni have made a mark in the industry, and year after after, more and more recruiters show up to recruit us. Just as a specific example: I am a low 9 pointer, and have landed a solid 18 LPA package during campus placements. Not shabby at all, yeah? 😉
