Let me start with the concerns that bother most of the prospective students and their parents i.e. placements. Traditionally for the last 7–8 batches, electrical engineering is the best branch when it comes to placements on campus. Since placement figures are the guiding figures for many of the prospective students, you should rest assured that electrical engineering will offer you that.
For other aspects of electrical engineering, I can say it is a fairly rigorous branch and IIT Gandhinagar offers very interesting courses in the discipline. Whether IIT Gandhinagar is good for electrical engineering? I would say it is good for any undergraduate engineering branch. Here are my reasons for saying so.
- Your four/five years at IIT Gandhinagar won’t be just devoted to electrical engineering. Instead, the entire four/five years would be composed of campus life, culture, friends, studies, internships, opportunities (or say placements). This entire long period of association is a time frame to discover one own self.
- The campus life at IIT Gandhinagar is amazing. You have a campus that resembles a resort almost. With greenery all around, the hostels and all other buildings are well designed. The student hostels have air-conditioned rooms.
- The mess food and all other food joints offer very good food and recently, IIT Gandhinagar got an FSSAI award and a 5-star rating for its food on campus. It was the only educational institute in India to get the 5-star rating.
