Chitkara University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India established for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education in India.
In the year 2010, Chitkara University was established by the Punjab State Legislature under, “The Chitkara University Act”. Chitkara University is a Government-Recognized University with the right to confer degrees as per the Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956.
Chitkara University is NAAC A+ accredited university. which places it among the 5% of higher education institutions (HEIs) in India to be granted such a coveted grade. The University scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.26 on a 4-point scale.
