If you are looking for a good placement in some MNCs, Private sector or even PSUs – IIT Gandhinagar is not the place you should ever think of.
Let me first give you some details of the current placement scenario of Batch 15–19.
Out of 150 students merely, 50 students have been placed, and many of them have been placed with a package they wouldn’t even have thought when they cleared JEE ADVANCED. Some students are placed with a good package in companies like Goldman Sachs, Texas Instruments, Barclays etc. These are the top creamy students that would have been placed without the help of CDS (Placement cell of IIT Gn).
Other than than no students have the ability to crack competitive exams like GATE, CAT. Because in 3rd year, Foreign Internship make them feel like they are above seventh heaven. Some students have CPI of greater than 8.5 , and they were placed in companies that a ‘tier-3 or4’ college’s student would get easily.
So, All I want to say, not only the placement but also the culture of the college is so bad that nobody even think of preparing for competitive exams.
