SRM has many campuses in different cities. In chennai itself, they have multiple campuses.
This review is about the Kattankulathur,Chennai Campus.
The food is quite good. There are separate messes for South Indian and North Indian meals. All hostels have their designated mess. The food served is cooked in-house. The staff use gloves and head cover while serving. They also serve non-veg items, special veg items and items such as ice creams, fruits etc. Breakfast and evening snacks are also good with bread, butter and jam as staple and one extra item which varies day to day. They also bake their own bread and cake. Milk and buttermilk are available with all the meals.
Sundays and Holidays have special menu.
In addition there is a food court with plenty of food joints. There was also a night canteen. Not sure if it is still there. There are canteens in the college campus too.
Although we used to have qualms about the flavour of the food served in the mess back then (I mean who doesn’t ) but now when I think about it, the food was actually quite healthy and hygienic and quite good.
