How helpful is career counselling after 10th?

  • 0

We all have experienced anxiety at the time of selecting the subjects after 10th. Am I taking the right subjects? Will these subjects have demand in future? Should I take an additional subject? Being in the industry for over years, I have realized that these are some very common doubts students have for selecting the subjects.

Career Counselling helps in a lot of ways after 10th standard, I am listing few for you :

  1. It helps the child realize their potential as they are assessed using scientific psychometric tools.
  2. Career Counselling makes the child understand various career options that are in demand and will be suitable for them.
  3. It helps the child avoid taking the wrong subjects. For Example, taking 3 languages or taking 2–3 subjects where theory is less than 70%. Here the students will find difficulty in getting through the universities where best of 4 is considered. (A lot of subjects are not accepted in the best of 4)
  4. A good counsellor will always share some resources which the child can utilize to work on his profile.
  5. Counsellors will also suggest techniques or methods to improve the weak areas or suggest some good books.
