Admission Process

Hindustan University takes into consideration students who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination with commendable marks for admission. The University strictly follows the eligibility criteria of UGC norms.


Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Examination (HITSEEE)
An online Entrance Examination (HITSEEE) is conducted every year at various cities across India. Students seeking admission for undergraduate programmes have to register online to appear for the Entrance Examination on dates specified in the media advertisements. The time duration of the entrance examination is 2 hours. Students are required to answer 120 questions covering Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Based on the entrance examination score and marks in the qualifying examination, a rank list is prepared for admission into U.G (Engineering & Technology) Programmes.

How to Apply 
Students, having the qualifying marks, can apply to any one of the undergraduate programmes offered by the University. The applications should be submitted at the admission office before the deadline mentioned in the advertisement. This does not apply for those who apply for non-professional programmes and research related programmes.

Special Admission Programmes 
The University recognizes the need for providing educational opportunities for people of widely varying ages and backgrounds. Therefore, special admission programmes are available for potentially successful students from disadvantaged, culturally deprived, or economically impoverished segments of the society. For further details, the Head Office can be contacted. Admission to Hindustan University thus, is purely non-discriminatory.

Re-admission 
Students who are initially enrolled at Hindustan University but did not attend the particular semester/term can re-register, provided they left with good conduct and have not enrolled in any other institution after leaving Hindustan University. Such students may be readmitted by submitting a Readmission Form. Students who have been dismissed either from Hindustan University or any other institution will not be readmitted under any circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria: 
Eligibility to Register for Online Entrance Examination – B. Tech. Courses / B. Tech.
1. A Pass in (10+2) or equivalent examination with a minimum average of 60% marks in Maths, Physics, & Chemistry.
2. For  B.Tech. (Bio-Technology)  alone,  a  pass  in  (10+2)  with a  minimum average of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. 
3.Any other examination of any university or authority accepted by this University as equivalent of plus two.
Vocational Stream
HSC – Vocational Candidates: Candidates who have qualified with HSC (vocational stream) with engineering / technical vocational subjects and any one or two of the related subjects like Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry are eligible provided they have passed their qualifying examinations and obtained minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the vocational & related subjects.
Eligibility to Register for Online Entrance Examination – B. Arch
1. A Pass in plus two with an average of not less than 60% in (10+2) level or its equivalent examination with Mathematics / Business Mathematics as one of the subjects. 
2. A Pass in 3 year diploma (10+3) recognized by central / state government with Mathematics / Business Mathematics as a subject of study with an aggregate of not less than 50%. 
3.Any other examination of any university or authority accepted by this University as equivalent of plus two. 
4.All applicants for B.Arch. course including NRI / Foreign Nationals should write the Aptitude test conducted by Council of Architecture (NATA) and the score should not be less than 80 out of 200.

Online Examination:
1. Students awaiting for Higher Secondary / +2 Examinations results are eligible to register for online Entrance Exam. 

2.Only Indian Nationals and those who have done their Plus two / HSC in Schools in India are eligible to apply for Online Entrance Exam Registration. 

3.Foreign Nationals / NRIs are exempted from Online Entrance Examination. 
Age Limit: Upper age limit will be 19 years of age as on first of July of the year of application.

ELIGIBILITY FOR LATERAL ENTRY – II YR B.TECH. PROGRAMMES
Diploma in the appropriate branch of Engg./ Tech / B.Sc. (with Mathematics as a subject). Average 50% in final year of study. The candidate shall have not completed 21 years of age as on first of July of the year of application.

Scholarship Details

SC / ST Scholarship Government of India
Those candidates, who are Indian citizens belonging to Tamilnadu and who have passed the School leaving examination, namely Higher Secondary / Indian School Certificate etc, are eligible for this scholarship.
The income of the parents should not exceed Rs. 100000/- per annum.
The scholarship is renewable from year to year within the stages of education.
The candidates should not be in receipt of another scholarship / assistance from other sources
Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Memorial Foundation Scholarships/Aid
In fond memory of our Founder & Chairman Dr. K. C. G. Verghese and for the yeomen services he had rendered to the Society, a Public Charitable Foundation has been created in his name. It is proposed to offer financial aid to meritorious and deserving students towards their education and medical relief to the poor. Merit Cum Means Scholarship

HITS adopted two schools, one from Thiruporur and the second from Puzhuthivakkam. The top scorers in plus two from these two schools are awarded financial aid to pursue their higher studies in HITS. Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students from weaker sections, especially to the scholars from the local village (Padur). The management is also offering the scholarship to the wards of HITS employees.
Sports Scholarship
Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science is renowned for its sports excellence and no stone has been left unturned in this arena at both the national and global levels. The School of Sports and Games of Hindustan University opens its door to fresh talent every year. The institution has given prime importance to enroll the students those who have excelled in sports under the Sports Quota over the years.
Research Fellowships
To promote research and attract Full time Research Scholars, Hindustan University has instituted Hindustan Teaching Research Fellowships (HTRF) for eligible candidates. The fellowships are available for Full time Research Scholars registered for Ph.D., M.Phil. and M.S. by Research.
Criteria for selection: The student who has performed & achieved accolades at the National, Inter-University and State Levels in all disciplines can apply in the month of April every year along with his/her Merit Certificates.
Orientation
All first time freshmen are required to attend a University Orientation session for a full day in the campus. This is just to help the freshmen to make the academic transition form high school to University. Orientation session is normally held a day before the actual commencement of classes and the attendance is compulsory for all students.

There has been a rise in the number of candidates applying to M.Sc, M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar. The number of students applying for these programmes has witnessed a significant improvement in the M.Sc programme by 7%, 15% in M.Tech programme and 95% in the Ph.D. programme. Apart from this, IIT BBS has taken several initiatives to encourage girl students to pursue higher education. The institute has offered admission to 19 girl students on the supernumerary basis and the strength of the girl students in undergraduate courses has gone up to 55. Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu celebrated its Foundation Day recently and the chief guest for the event was Parvez Ahmed, Chairman and CEO, J&K Bank. The event was attended by many eminent personalities including Prof Ashok Aima (VC Central University), Manoj Gaur (IIT Director) along with faculty and students of IIT. While addressing the audience on the Foundation Day, Parvez Ahmed congratulated the entire team of the institute and regarded IIT Jammu as one of the important milestones of the J&K state which will promote academic advancement and innovation in the state. IIT Mandi (Indian Institute of Technology) has welcomed its first batch of students in the B.Tech course on August 08, 2018. As a part of the induction programme, students will spend the first five weeks of the academic session in an intense daily programme. During the induction programme, IIT Mandi does not conduct any regular classes for students enrolled in various branches of engineering. Students will be divided into batches of 20 and personal attention will be given to each student to hone their skills and help them get acquainted with the environment of the premier institute.
